Southern Right, Sauvignon Blanc 2024

"The Southern Right 2024 Sauvignon Blanc (a Cape Coast wine) is light and fragrant in a style that is somewhere between the New World and South Africa. Some of the fruit comes from cool-climate Elgin. In fact, fruit is sourced from across 29 different blocks. This is one of the bread-and-butter wines of the estate. There are notes of green papaya and exotic fruit. Texturally, the wine is thin on the mid-palate, with a good kick of acidity to close. The aim is to avoid excessive Sauvignon Blanc flavors but keep its zesty green character." – Wine Advocate

"The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc comes from the clayey Cape Coast, plus granitic soils in Elgin, matured 8% in used oak and the rest in stainless steel. It has a well-defined bouquet with grapefruit, nettle, dandelion and subtle earthy scents. The palate is well balanced, crisp and linear, with fine delineation. Quite an elegant Sauvignon Blanc, it boasts a precise, sapid finish that urges you back for more. This is very well made and very delicious." – Neal Martin
