La Rioja Alta, S.A

On the 10th of July 1890, five families joined together to share their passion for wine and founded La Rioja Alta, S.A in the Haro Station district of Rioja Alta. La Rioja Alta represents the essence of vine-growing culture. Its vines are tenderly cared for on this 473-hectare estate, 360 of which are vineyards planted on limestone soil, in the best parts of Rioja Alta. Tempranillo dominates their vineyards, but in the past few years they have planted Graciano which adds a special personality to their wines, and Garnacha to make Viña Ardanza wh...

Weingut Schätzel

The Schätzel family has been making wine along the Rhine River for the last 650 years. From the beginning, their goal has been to produce wines that recount their place of origin with each sip. The crucible of their efforts: steep red shale vineyards such as Pettenthal, Ölberg and Hipping, lend the wines a distinct minerality and sophisticated structure. “Give nature her space,” is the winery’s motto, and under the vaulted ceilings of the estate’s 800-year-old cellar, the wines are given the time and freedom to develop in full. Caroline and Ka...

Amisfield

The Amisfield estate is located in the celebrated region of Central Otago, the southern most wine region in New Zealand. All the fruits of Amisfield wines are sourced from their own estate grown vines – the only winery in Central Otago to do this – so they are able to manage the winemaking from grape to bottle. High altitude, cool climate, long summers, and clean soils allow Amisfield to produce some of the finest single vineyard Pinot Noir and aromatic white wines in New Zealand. Sustainable agriculture practices are employed and yields are ke...

Baricci

Baricci’s history dates back to 1955 when Nello Baricci, one of the 26 founders of the Association of Brunello di Montalcino in 1967, purchased 5 hectares of vineyards in Colombaio di Montosoli. The first bottle of Rosso di Montalcino was made in 1968 followed by the first vintage of Brunello di Montalcino in 1971. The soil, the position, the well cultivated vineyard, the Sangiovese grapes and the medium capacity oak barrels make up a really genuine Brunello wine.

Domaine Lebrun

Domaine Lebrun is a family owned and run boutique estate in the heart of Pouilly-Fumé. This small estate is lucky to have some of the best terroir in the appellation of Pouilly-Fumé, with its rich, flint and clay soil. Laurent Lebrun, a well-traveled winemaker, has brought modern winemaking skills to very old vines, producing richly textured and herbaceous wines, with the distinctive ‘gunflint’ character the region is known for.

EN PRIMEUR

Every spring after the year’s harvest, merchants and trade organisations arrange a tasting of barrel samples of wines that are often only six to eight months old. During this time, thousands of wine critics, journalists and wine merchants from all over the world travel to Bordeaux, where they are presented with the unfinished wines. Based on these initial samples, the wines are given a preliminary ‘score’ or wine rating according to the predicted...
