Paco & Lola

Paco & Lola comes from 200 hectares of vineyards in the heart of the Salnes Valley in the Rías Baixas Denomination, renowned for its unique climatic characteristics that contribute to make this terroir unique: good rainfall and small temperature variations are combined with sandy loam soils of granite origin, that are lightly acidic. The vineyards are over 20 years old, and are planted in the traditional “emparrado” system (trellis) used to support the vines and address the particular climatic and geographic characteristics of the Rias Baix...

JJ Hahn

The Hahn’s are considered Barossa royalty - almost national treasures. Maria and Johann Christian Hahn arrived in the Barossa Valley in 1845 and their land is still in Hahn family hands, six generations on. Current custodians, Jacqui and James Hahn still live in the original homestead constructed from 1846 to 1848. Yields are kept low and there are two pickings, five days apart, which gives a greater range of complexity in the final wine.

Long Meadow Ranch

“Long Meadow Ranch was a pioneer of organic and sustainable farming in Napa County and continues to be a leader in that category.” - Wine Spectator In the late 1800’s, the majestic Long Meadow Ranch had thriving vineyards, but farming fell dormant during Prohibition. After the Halls bought the property in 1989, they carefully breathed life back into the land, nurturing it back to its former glory. Their 150-acre vineyards in the Napa and Anderson Valleys are farmed using organic practices, certified by California Certified Organic Farme...

Dominique Laurent

Dominique Laurent set up the domaine in 1988 and rapidly became known for his hand crafted red Burgundies. Before becoming a vigneron, Dominique was a pastry chef and he has continued with his philosophy of only using the best ingredients. From start to finish everything is hand selected and he uses only the best Tronçais wood for his barrels, which he air dries for at least 3 years (and up to 7). The fruit used is from ancient vines from the best part of the vineyards.

Le Clos du Caillou

Le Clos du Caillou was purchased in 1956 by Claude Pouizin and part of its 42 acres is only 500 meters away from the legendary Rayas vineyard. When Claude’s daughter, Sylvie, took over the estate in 1995 and decided to bottle their own wine, this domaine gradually gained worldwide acclaim. Their renowned single vineyard “Châteauneuf du Pape” series offers remarkable depth and complexity; another compelling “Côtes du Rhone” series is made from fifty year old vines, and is a great example of classic Rhône style.

EN PRIMEUR

Every spring after the year’s harvest, merchants and trade organisations arrange a tasting of barrel samples of wines that are often only six to eight months old. During this time, thousands of wine critics, journalists and wine merchants from all over the world travel to Bordeaux, where they are presented with the unfinished wines. Based on these initial samples, the wines are given a preliminary ‘score’ or wine rating according to the predicted...
