Vintage 2004 was dry and cool in June; July and August mild but rainy, September was hot and sunny, Harvest on October. Almost ideal growing season. Steep slope at the top of the hill facing south-west ;Top layer with millstone grit gravel over clayey marl, followed by Campanian chalk. 100% Chardonnay. 16 years on the lees.
