Painted on thin soil, clay-limestone on a base of cradled limestones. Manual harvest, sorting in the vineyard. Destemmed harvest and fermentation in vats Indigenous yeasts.
Ageing: 18 months in French oak barrels. No new barrel.

Charmes Charmbetin Cuvee des Merles Grand Cru x 2
"Dark red with ruby tones. Deep, soil-driven aromas of dark raspberry, minerals and violet, plus a sexy gamey nuance. Wonderfully fine-grained and concentrated, conveying strong smoky soil tones and an impression of sweetness. This strong, serious vin de terroir finishes gripping and long, with harmonious ripe tannins." - Vinous 92-94pts

Clos de La Roche Cuvee VV Grand Cru x 2
"A very mild touch of reduction is just enough to blur the distinctions of the ripe red berry, earth and soft spice nuances and I suspect that a quick aeration would be sufficient to dissipate it. The broad-shouldered flavors possess a lovely texture thanks to the plentiful level of dry extract that enrobes the firm tannins shaping the serious and linear finish that displays excellent power and length. "Saturated dark red with ruby highlights. Slightly medicinal, very reticent nose hints at black cherry, licorice and earth. Very rich, seamless and sweet, conveying an almost a chocolatey quality to its dark cherry, licorice and spice flavors. "Bright, full red. Sexy carnal scents of plum, red cherry and spices. Then quite dry and uncompromising on the palate, showing more soil than primary fruit today. In a rather strict style and tough going at present. Finishes with substantial, slightly drying tannins." - VInous 89-91pts

Corton Bressandes Grand Cru x 1
"Sexy cherry and spice aromas complicated by alluring soil tones. Still a touch of reduction on the palate, but clearly a much sweeter and more generous wine than the Cuvée du Bourdon, with dense, well-delineated raspberry, spice and soil tones saturating the mouth and echoing on the finish. "Very pure aromas of citrus fruits, white peach and crushed stone. A very fresh, pristine style that's rather closed and backward following the bottling but not hard or austere.
