"The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Les Beau Monts 1er Cru, which comes from a one-hectare (ish) parcel, has a nicely detailed, quite mineral-driven bouquet with pressed violets developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, quite fleshy and ripe with a fine bead of acidity. This builds nicely towards quite a structure and persistent finish with a sweet cassis aftertaste. "Discreet wood is again present on the notably more elegant and cooler nose of airy red and dark pinot fruit, exotic tea and a similar array of floral elements. The sleek, intense and more overtly mineral-driven flavors are also noticeably finer while retaining excellent drive on the chiseled and strikingly long finish.
