"The 2022 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a tough job following the punchy aromatics of the "4 Carac'terres"; it’s quite low-key for this vineyard, crushed stone percolating through black fruit, linear and "correct" in style. The medium-bodied palate has fine-grain tannins. There’s mainly black fruit here, cohesive and smooth in the mouth, becoming stony when retrying after 10 minutes. It's a bit of a dark horse this, very focused and poised, though this is the one cuvée where I think it would benefit from a second winter in barrel." – Neal Martin
