"The 2018 Saumur Blanc Clos Romans comes from very dense tuffeau soil and was aged for 6 to 8 months in 5-hectoliter barrels. The nose is tropical and floral – mango and orange blossom — with an attractive wooliness. Full-bodied, but fresh and light on its feet. Flavors of tangerine and rosewater develop with hints of crush shell through to the long mineral finish." - Vinous

This wine represents the top of the range. Clos Romans is a walled vineyard dating back to the 11th century and what results is a wine of dramatic grandeur and elegance. On the nose, the wine is fresh and minerally with fruity and white floral notes. It has a lot of concentration with flavors of citrus, exotic fruits and floral high-notes, embodied by a pristine, driving core of acidity.
