Domaine Clos de la Chapelle, Volnay 1er Cru Clos de la Chapelle Monopole 2022

"The 2022 Volnay Clos de la Chapelle 1er Cru is the 0.5-hectare monopole of the Domaine. However, part is undergoing replanting as the yields were decreasing (perhaps partly due to the application of biodynamics.) It has commendable purity on the nose, raspberry and wild hedgerow, a touch of white pepper emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with straightforward red and black fruit and modest weight, though it needs more substance and grip on the finish." – Neal Martin
