Domaine Cazes, Rivesaltes Collections 1943

"The (at least partly) black grape-based Cazes 1943 Rivesaltes was both thicker in feel and more opaque in its projection of flavors than the other wines I recently tasted from this group. Plum paste and toasted walnuts, black tea and peat are dominate on the palate and exhibit admirable persistence even if this doesn’t quite sing and tends toward a blurring-together of smoky and bitter elements." - Wine Advocate
