"The 2011 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a delightful bouquet with complex, mineral rich red currant and raspberry fruit that is linear and focused at the moment. There is wonderful definition as usual. The palate is medium-bodied with a smear of strawberry jam on the entry and then that heavenly mineralite kicks in towards the structure, precise and quite crystalline finish. "A blend of both natural and wood spice adds depth to the seductively perfumed nose of dark berry liqueur and violet aromas. There is plenty of earth influence to the beguilingly textured and sappy medium weight flavors that possess a suave mouth feel on the pure and gorgeously long finish. There is still some residual wood on the finale but the concentration is such that this should have no difficulty successfully integrating it in time.
