Volnay 1er Cru Domaine: Manual harvest in small cases of 13 kg. This Premier Cru comes from a very steep plot, on a poor limestone soil. This terroir produces rich wines with a great deepness and an attractive energy. Perfumed bouquet with red fruit aromas. Harmonious on the palate with beautiful flesh tannins.

Volnay 1er Cru Frémiets Clos de la Rougeotte: "An attractively fresh and bright nose features notes of plum, red and dark raspberry, sandalwood and a whiff of violet. There is fine density and unusually good power to the elegant, pure and refined medium-bodied flavors that flash a touch of minerality on the beautifully textured, mouthcoating and lingering finale that already possesses fine depth." - Allen Meadows 91-94pts

Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes: "Soft but not imperceptible wood frames the aromas of baked plum and abundant wisps of both spice and floral nuances. Volnay 1er Cru Les Taillepieds: "A notably ripe nose has a mildly roasted character to it yet there is still good freshness to the poached plum, cassis and softly spicy aromas. There is equally good verve to the succulent but punchy and delicious flavors that are decidedly compact and tightly wound today on the impressively long and austere finish. This is very Taillepieds in the sense that it's borderline strict, yet the underlying components are present for this to be superb one day." - Allen Meadows 91-94pts

Volnay 1er Cru En Chevre: "A cool, pretty and more floral nose offers up notes of various dark berries, anise, clove and a hint of dried herbs. There is both fine richness and volume to the fleshy medium weight flavors that possess fine depth on the sappy, refined and lingering finish. Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets - Ancienne Cuvée Carnot: "There is a suggestion of herbal tea on the exuberantly spicy aromas of red and dark raspberry along with a hint of violet. There is a wonderful texture to the classy and beautifully well-detailed middle weight flavors that brim with both minerality and dry extract before culminating in a compact, serious and built-to-age finish. This too could use better depth but the underlying material, and this wine's consistently outstanding track record, bodes well for the future." - Allen Meadows 92-95pts
