"The 2019 Echézeaux Grand Cru has more fruit concentration on the nose than Grivot, but there is a fair lacquer of new oak that will need several years to be subsumed. The palate is medium-bodied, sensual, plush and rounded, but there is a decent spine of acidity that maintains freshness and tension, and a savory notes of pepper and bay leaf on the finish. It becomes a little angular with aeration and even more peppery. Mercurial." - Neal Martin

"The 2019 Echézeaux Grand Cru, which comes from the lieu-dit of Les Champs Traversins, has a well-defined bouquet of raspberry and wild strawberry fruit, loamy/sous-bois scents and a touch of wilted iris petals. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins, crisp acidity and a lightly spiced finish. This is a well-crafted Echézeaux from Bichot/Clos Frantin, and it should give 15–20 years’ drinking pleasure, possibly more." - Neal Martin
