Spanish Wine Offer - Izadi, Vetus, Finca Villacreces
As the roar of Spain's historic World Cup triumph continues to echo across the globe, the celebration is moving straight from the pitch to the table. There is no better way to honour the champions than by gathering over sizzling, savoury tapas and uncorking the bottles that define the soul of modern Spain.
Spanish wine is undergoing a brilliant renaissance—blending its tradition of long barrel maturation with a contemporary focus on energy, fruit purity, and precision. Today we showcase three benchmark estates from the Artevino portfolio, each from Spain's most prestigious terroirs, offering unmatched quality and spectacular value.
IZADI — The Gastronomic Heart of Rioja Alavesa
Taking its name from the Basque word for "nature," Izadi represents absolute reverence for the land. Established in 1987 in the prestigious "golden triangle" of Villabuena, Samaniego, and Ábalos, this bodega has long been a darling of the international culinary scene. Crafted from old vines of 35 to 60 years on high-altitude clay-calcareous slopes, Izadi delivers structured, elegant Rioja that bridges classic complexity with modern finesse.
VETUS — The New Wave Innovation of Toro
Artevino's visionary project in the Toro DO, Vetus was founded in 2003 to redefine what the region could achieve. Sitting above 700 metres on south-facing sandy-clay soils, the estate works old-vine Tinta de Toro (the local Tempranillo clone) alongside forward-thinking organic viticulture. These are beautifully judged, fresh wines that balance Toro's signature intensity with juicy approachability and sweet balsamic spice.
FINCA VILLACRECES — The Golden Mile's Best Kept Secret
Heralded by Robert Parker as "one of the best kept secrets of Ribera del Duero," Finca Villacreces sits on arguably Spain's most hallowed strip of land—adjacent to the legendary Vega Sicilia and sharing the very plots that birthed Pingus. Under the Antón family and winemaker Ángel Ortega, the estate's 40+ year-old vines thrive on a mosaic of sand and quartz. The wines are deep, dark, and texturally magnificent, an unbeatable benchmark pedigree.
Fire up the grill, slice the jamón, and let the triumphs of Spain fill your glass. ¡Salud!

Finca Villacreces, Pruno 2023
Best Spanish Wine in History for Under US$20
Neighbouring the legendary Vega Sicilia, Finca Villacreces is celebrated by Robert Parker as "one of the best kept secrets of Ribera del Duero." Pruno, the estate's premier value creation, is Parker's "best Spanish wine in history for under US$20." In the vibrant 2023 vintage, the estate's old-to-mid-aged vines (planted between 1975 and 2001) yielded a masterclass in contained ripeness, using isolated estate yeasts and a meticulous 12-month French oak regime to capture pristine, fruit-driven tension without losing its trademark texture.
Finca Villacreces, Specimen N2 NV
The Ultimate Depth in Small-Batch
A special release drawn from the estate's finest old vines of over 40 years, Specimen N is a unique series that blends different vintages into one rich, complex expression. N2 unites three remarkable years: the powerful, concentrated 2017, born of a hot, low-yielding season; the cooler, classic 2018, prized for its freshness and elegance; and the beautifully balanced 2019, marrying ripeness with structure. Together they form the ultimate small-batch statement—a true collector's item, aged an extraordinary 48 months across 500-litre Bordeaux barrels and large 1,200-litre wooden foudres.

Izadi, Selección Reserva 2020
An Ambitious Masterclass in Modern Rioja
At the heart of Rioja Alavesa, nestled within the celebrated golden triangle of Villabuena, Samaniego, and Ábalos, Selección Reserva stands as the signature wine of Izadi. Sourced from 60-year-old vines planted on high-altitude clay-calcareous slopes 520 metres above sea level, the 2020 vintage captures a pristine balance of local character. The wine is aged for 16 months in a meticulous combination of 75% French and 25% American oak barrels, yielding a broad, textured, and modern-styled Rioja that combines old-vine concentration with superb structural definition.
Izadi, El Regalo 2022
The King's Coronation Wine
Served at the official celebrations for the coronation of King Felipe VI of Spain, El Regalo is the undisputed flagship of the Izadi estate. This exceptional Viñedo Singular is crafted from a prized single plot of low-yielding, 80-year-old vines planted between 1920 and 1936. To combat the extremely warm and dry conditions of the 2022 vintage, the estate applied masterful precision—fermenting the old-vine field blend in open oak vats with indigenous yeasts before a 12-month maturation. The result is a wonderfully controlled, young, and highly expressive wine that sidesteps heavy extraction in favour of classical structure and deep complexity.

Vetus, Flor de Vetus 2021
“A powerful but well judged Toro." – Vinous
A visionary project in Toro by Izadi, Vetus is committed to overturning the region's reputation for mass-produced, brawny reds in favour of a modern, elegant, and sustainable style. Perched at a cool, high altitude of 725 metres in Villabuena del Puente, the estate pioneers a fresher approach through organic viticulture (60% certified in 2021) and earlier harvesting to preserve acidity, longevity, and finesse.
Flor de Vetus is the estate's approachable younger expression—the vibrant, everyday face of this fresher philosophy. Drawn exclusively from Vetus's own estate vineyards on south-facing, sandy-clay soils, the 2021 co-ferments Tinta de Toro with a touch of Garnacha using indigenous yeasts, trading Toro's trademark aggressive tannins for pure, juicy, well-structured pleasure.
Vetus, Flor de Vetus Blanco 2024
Rueda's High-Altitude White
Produced from old, head-pruned vines located 900 metres above sea level in Rueda—Spain's famed white wine region—this fabulous white wine thrives on high-altitude sandy soils. Fermented in a fresh style, the 2024 Flor de Vetus Blanco highlights the absolute purity and rich fruit expression of the local Verdejo grape. It delivers an intense, harmonious, and medium-bodied profile that is perfectly tailored for immediate, vibrant summer sipping.
