A Gastronomic Experience with Two Renowned German Wineries

Kerry Wines is pleased to present an evening with two renowned German winemakers: Cornelius Dönnhoff, “One of the finest producers in the world today” – Wine & Spirits magazine, and Kai Schätzel, “One of the shooting stars of the Rheinhessen in the past few years.” – Wine Advocate.

Begin the evening tasting a range of Grosses Gewachs, followed by a 6-course menu from Above and Beyond, while savoring a Silvaner, an old variety that once was the most important grape in Germany and Rieslings, ranging from the aromatic Kabinett, to luscious Spätlese and rich, decadent Eiswein.

The Schätzel family has been making wine along the Rhine river for the last 650 years. Caroline and Kai Schätzel assumed the helm in 2008. They have dedicated themselves to a singular style, built around a slow and steady hand in the vineyard. “Give nature her space,” is the winery’s motto, and under the vaulted ceilings of the estate’s 800-year-old cellar, the wines are given the time and freedom to develop in full.
