Cozy Corner Restaurant and Kerry Wines cordially invite you to join this exclusive Spanish dinner, featuring an exciting range of wines from the famed Ribera del Duero and Toro regions. The wines will include the Pruno 2011 from Finca Villacreces, and the Vetus 2008, both rated over 90+ points by Robert Parker. The highly acclaimed wines will be paired with exquisite Spanish dishes, carefully prepared by Cozy Corner.
Finca Villacreces is based at the heart of the Ribera del Duero DO, forming part of the ‘golden mile’ along with its immediate neighbor Vega Sicilia, Pingus and other such high profile estates. Located in Quintanilla de Onesimo, the stunning estate was purchased by Lalo Anton of Izadi in 2003 (Artevino group) and the resulting wines, made by winemaker Angél Ortega, are deep, dark and focused in style.
Also part of the Artevino portfolio, Vetus estate comprises 10 hectares of old Tinta de Toro (the local name for Tempranillo) vines, located in Villabuena del Puente in the region of Morales de Toro. It is a project which was started by the owners of Izadi in the Toro DO, with their first vintage in 2003. The vineyards are 30 years old, planted on south-facing sites with sandy and clay soils. The wines have expressive aromas of ripe fruit and a subtle touch of sweet spice, and are perfectly balanced.
