The Schätzel family has been making wine along the Rhine River for the last 650 years. From the beginning, their goal has been to produce wines that recount their place of origin with each sip. The crucible of their efforts: steep red shale vineyards such as Pettenthal, Ölberg and Hipping, lend the wines a distinct minerality and sophisticated structure. "Give nature her space," is the winery's motto. Schätzel wines are known as sleek and puristic, with extreme depth and cellarability.
