Finca Villacreces

Described as “one of the best kept secrets of Ribera del Duero” by Robert Parker, Finca Villacreces is located just next to the world famous estate of Vega Sicilia and is made on the plot of land that made Pingus. The estate has been under the Anton family since 2003 and the resulting wines, made by winemaker Angél Ortega, are deep, dark and focused in style. 75% of the vineyards are planted with Tempranillo (mostly on sand, which gives an attractive fleshiness to the wines), with 15% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon (mostly on the quartz and shingle, giving a more minerally complexity).
