A pioneer in the Barolo region, Elio Altare is considered to be one of the greatest winemakers in the world. Inspired by his first trip to Burgundy in 1976, he has lead the way in producing modern-styled Barolos with reformed and truly innovative cellar and vinification techniques, including the use of rotary fermenters, small barriques and short maceration periods.

Today, this 10 hectare estate is run by Silvia, and employs a more organic approach to viticulture and the production of Elio Altare’s very sought-after, but limited production, Barolos.
