Princess Coralia Pignatelli della Leonessa and her husband acquired the property in 1968. Located in the southern part of the Chianti Classico region, the estate is known for producing some of the most traditionally-crafted and age-worthy wines in Italy. However, it went a step further in differentiating itself from other producers by releasing stocks progressively into the market, once deemed ready to drink. This practice allows consumers to drink great wines, with a certain level of maturity.

Castell’in Villa produces high quality wines from low yield vineyards and is renowned for its exceptional Chianti Classico and Chianti Classico Riserva (100% Sangiovese), as well as an elegant Super-Tuscan “Santacroce” made up of a Sangiovese – Cabernet Sauvignon blend.
