"12.9% actual, so 13% on the label. Last picked, very ripe but not too high in sugar. Made in terra cotta amphoras. Clay in the lower part of the plot. Mid lemon yellow. Bread on the nose along with the fruit. Keeps brilliantly once opened. Love the balance of this, the fruit shows properly but not unduly ripe, pears not peaches, with excellent length. Love it! "The 2022 Viré-Clessé Retour à la Terre is a selection within the largest block on clay soils that is picked on the final day of harvest. The grapes tend to be very ripe but have lower sugar levels, so they have half a degree less in alcohol, aged in terracotta jars for 11 months. Again, it conveys more complexity on the nose compared to the Quintaine, based on yellow fruit but intermixed with peach skin, a touch of lanolin and pear. The palate is well-balanced with a fine bead of acidity."-Vinous
